Recent Email - 2023
16 March 2023
Our internet provider reported that all email bounce issues have been resolved. No future emails will be posted here.
In early February 2023, our society's email address started receiving hundreds of bounced email notices each day. The issue is due to AOL rejecting email sent from groups like ours. As a result, if you have an email address that has the following extensions, @aol.com, @att.net, @yahoo.com, @verizon.net, you may not receive email regularly from us.
Each of our members with those email extensions received an email from me stating the problem. The only quick fix I can think of is to post email you should have received here. Hopefully AOL will correct this issue quickly.
Sincerely,
Debbe Tipping

You’ve amassed a large collection of genealogy research. What do you do with it? (Monthly Meetings)
7:30 pm to 9:00 pm
Zoom
You’ve amassed a large collection of genealogy research. What do you do with it? This presentation will show ways to prepare your genealogy research and materials to donate them to a facility, and how to find that facility. Various research facilities such as libraries, archives, and historical societies will be discussed.
Irene B. Walters came to Houston Public Library’s Family History Research Center at the Clayton Library Campus from New York in 1997 after receiving her librarian degree. As well as helping researchers at the library, Irene gives talks on various aspects of genealogical research including: the internet, newspaper research, passenger list and naturalization record searching, as well as Irish, and French research. Irene started her own genealogy research as a teenager and has taken her lines back through New York State into France, Ireland and recently Germany.

Hello!
There were two date errors in the newsletter that an eagle-eyed member caught. The dates for two meetings are wrong.
Here are the correct dates:
February's DNA SIG (Special Interest Group) is Wednesday, Feb. 22nd
March's Monthly Meeting is Thursday, March 16th
I am sorry for any confusion!
